The idea for these earrings began with the lovely carved rose beads, made of bamboo coral. It was love at first site with the delicate flowers - so much so that I missed the important note that they were only half drilled. I bought enough of them to make a rosary, and then was terribly disappointed when I got them and realized there was no way I could make a rosary with half-drilled beads. But the little coral flowers were so pretty, I couldn't send them back, so I decided to make them into earrings instead. After some fiddling with designs, I settled on these flower bouquets. Each earring has five delicately carved bamboo coral roses, along with three ruby in zoisite "leaf" beads. The flower bouquet is tied together with a pewter sheath.The Bamboo Coral roses range in color from salmon pink to an almost white pale pink. The Ruby in Zoisite stones are dark green, with little flecks of ruby crystal (yes, actual ruby, not just red colored). The occasional red fleck goes well with the pink of the roses.The earrings come in silver, bronze, and copper colors.
