Meaning: Onyx comes through Latin, from the Greek, meaning "claw" or "fingernail". With its flesh tone color, onyx can be said to resemble a fingernail.
Color: Onyx comes in many colors, each caused by an impurity within a base of Quartz. The main properties of Onyx can be inferred from its color.
